The Bank of England is likely to begin actively selling the gilts it holds in its GBP895 billion bond portfolio sooner than previously anticipated. We expect the BoE will begin 'active' quantitative tightening at a pace of GBP5bn a month in June (following an announcement in May), rising to GBP9bn a month from November. Alternatively, the central bank could hint at the start of gilt sales in the May meeting, make an official announcement in June that it begin sales in early July - BofA
